Gwen Richards

Community researcher and organizer

Gwen is a social justice consultant at Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance and public health professional based in Baltimore. Her current work centers on leveraging community voices in order to collaborate on Safe Seating designs in neighborhoods most affected by communicable diseases. Gwen has previously worked as the Director of Special Initiatives at HealthCare Access Maryland where she developed and directed consumer outreach initiatives to enhance access to the Maryland Medicaid Managed Care Program’s benefits and services. She has also worked for WBALTV 11 News and WEAA 88.9 FM as a producer of Mario Armstrong’s Digital Spin. Gwen holds an MA in Social Design from Maryland Institute College of Art and a BA in English from Tufts University. She is a member of the Baltimore Association of Black Journalists and a certified trainer of the Baltimore Community Mediation Program. Gwen is conducting field research with 3×3 for the West Baltimore community research project.
