Alice Kakurina is a Field Team Associate at 3×3, currently supporting Brooklyn Bridge Park’s visitor study. She was born and raised in South Brooklyn, and combines her passion for community organizing and her knowledge of architecture and urban design to envision more equitable and collaborative futures for her hometown. She graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Architecture and two minors in Social Justice and Sustainability Studies. She has worked with a variety of local community organizations, non-profits, and design firms to promote resident engagement across a broad range of advocacy fields – supporting the revitalization of NYCHA housing in Coney Island, advocating against the expansion of the Cross Bronx Expressway in West Farms, and cultivating green spaces and mutual aid networks at community gardens in East New York and Bed-Stuy. In her free time, you can find Alice riding her bike along the Shore Parkway Greenway, volunteering at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden library, or making things with her hands.
