Andrea Miranda Salas

Program Strategist

Andrea is focused on making positive social and civic change through design at 3×3. She uses frameworks such as community-centered design, equity-centered design, and co-creation methods to better serve communities that have been marginalized and economically disadvantaged, locally and globally. Before transitioning into social design, her professional work experience includes 15 years of designing for small design studios and large corporate retailers. For ten of those years, she worked as an independent consultant managing international design projects alongside artisan communities helping to empower and provide market access for their designs. Projects ranged from working on-site in rural towns in Central and South America to working on project initiatives with international government agencies. Andrea holds an MFA in design for social innovation from the School of Visual Arts, and a BFA in product design from Parsons School of Design, The New School.
