The Stakeholder Perspectacles is a tool that can help you understand others’ values, behaviors, and different points of view by creating a fictional profile of a project stakeholder. The profile is based on qualitative research data, and assumptions based on secondary research. It takes two steps to develop a Stakeholder Perspectacles. The first one consists of developing the basic profile of your stakeholder; through the second step, the initial profile will be built out through exploring and expanding on the stakeholder’s thinking, feelings, and underlying assumptions.

2 to 4 hours for data collection, and at least 1 to 2 hours as a group for synthesis

Participants

Stakeholder Perspectacles work best when conducted as a group activity within your project team. We suggest between 4 to 5 people per group. The more diverse the group, the better.
